Comics Written by Greg Pak Hulk gives “Planet Hulk” a rave review

An excerpt:

I won’t ruin the surprises in this book, but suffice to say this is the best issue of HULK Ive read in several years. It has action, laughs, suspense and a big green guy hitting people.

Art wise, I really dont think that there is a more perfect match for this book than Carlo Pagulayan. The pages explode with life and energy. Theres so much going on in every panel, and the detail involved is astounding.

Two more rave reviews for “Planet Hulk”

Broken Frontier has posted a rave review of “Incredible Hulk” #92, the sold out first issue of the “Planet Hulk” storyline, written by Greg Pak with art by Carlo Pagulayan. Here’s an excerpt:

Greg Pak may have come to comics scripting from a screenwriting background, but if this issue of The Incredible Hulk is any indication hes a natural. The narration captions at the bottom of page 1, for instance … [evoke] both an epic as well as a personal journey ahead, and the one-page set-up scene it concludes is written with as much empathy and economy. A tightly paced and engrossing read follows, Pak animating his scenes with crack (and at times hysterical) dialogue and engaging characterizations.

Its (pun-alert!) INCREDIBLE! And I am absolutely genuine when I say this is probably the best take on the Hulk since the end of Peter Davids first run in Vol. 2 #467.

IGN Comics rates Pak’s first Hulk issue “Must Have”

IGN Comics has given its highest rating to “Incredible Hulk” #92, written by Greg Pak with pencils by Carlo Pagulayan. Here are some excerpts from the review:

… the first issue of the 14-part epic was fan-Hulking-tastic. Hulk hasn’t visited other worlds in a long time and I credit Pak and Pagulayan for creating what appears to be a very dense new planet for big green to explore…. this is the new, fresh Hulk story I have been waiting on for years.

Hulk’s Sunday Slugfest has posted seven reviews of “Incredible Hulk” #92 as its latest Sunday Slugfest. A few excerpts:

“… between the art and Greg Pak’s writing I think this will end up being one of the all-time classic Hulk storylines.”
— Michael Bailey
“If I was looking for a reason to start picking up the Hulk again (and I am, who isn’t?) I would consider this a unique opportunity to get back into it. You should too.”
— Dominic Davies
“…theres no denying that Pak and Pagulayan have created an issue thats just plain fun. Because in the end, hearing Hulk Smash! is just plain cool, no matter what alien dialect its translated into.”
— Adam Volk
