PRINCESS WHO SAVED HER FRIENDS now available for pre-order on Backerkit!

If you missed the Kickstarter campaign for the PRINCESS WHO SAVED HER FRIENDS children’s book, have no fear! You can now pre-order the book at Backerkit!

Check it out!

The book is written by Greg Pak and Jonathan Coulton with art by Takeshi Miyazawa, colors by Jessica Kholinne, and letters by Simon Bowland.

The original PRINCESS WHO SAVED HERSELF book celebrated a scrappy kid who stuck up for herself but was always able to open the circle and find reconciliation with the monsters and witch she came into conflict with. We absolutely love that story of determination, bravery, and understanding.

But what happens next, when our heroine discovers that the witch she befriended miiiiight not be such a great friend after all?

THE PRINCESS WHO SAVED HER FRIENDS tackles the kind of tricky personal conflict that kids — and adults — grapple with every day in the real world.

Sekai No Owari music video based on the Pak/Miyazawa Marvel comic book!

Thrilled to report that the amazing Japanese band Sekai No Owari has made a music video based on the comic book that Takeshi Miyazawa and I made for them!

You can see the first minute or so of the video at the link above — if you subscribe to YouTube Premium, you can see the whole thing.

I’m pretty thrilled with this — love Sekai No Owari’s music, love Tak’s art, and I’m thrilled with how this video turned out. Might be the best “motion comic” style animation I’ve seen.

2019.01.16 – MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #1, with Greg Pak’s and Tomm Coker’s WWII NAMOR story!

This coming Wednesday, January 16, MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #1 hits comic shops. The book contains stories about Wolverine, Captain America, and Namor written by Charles Soule, Ann Nocenti, and yours truly!

I wrote the Namor story, a bit of historical fiction taking place at the end of World War II. Tomm Coker provided beautiful line art — see below for a couple of pages and ask your local comic shop to hold a copy for you!

2018.11.14 – FIREFLY #1 in comic shops TODAY!

Absolutely thrilled that FIREFLY #1 hits comic shops today! The book continues the adventures of the band of outlaws and outsiders who starred in Joss Whedon’s beloved FIREFLY television show and SERENITY movie, and is written by yours truly with art by Dan McDaid, colors by Marcelo Costa, letters by Jim Campbell, and editing by Jeanine Schaefer and Gavin Gronenthal.

I’m hugely biased, of course, but I think the book is terrific and if you like space cowboys, fun worldbuilding, and/or stories about a found family of outsiders driving each other crazy while grappling with the wounds of war, this book is for you!

Keep scrolling for a lettered preview of the first few pages of the book, and ask your local comics shop to hold a copy for you today!

Also, here’s a brand new interview about the book and here’s a great review from ComicBook.com that concludes, “Excellent craft and a compelling story come together to create a comic book that Browncoats are likely to be very, very pleased with.”
