Hey, friends! Today is the final order cutoff for comic shops to place their orders for SAM WILSON: CAPTAIN AMERICA #1, so you’d do me a HUGE favor if you’d call your local shop and ask ’em to pre-order a copy for you TODAY, Monday, November 25!
SAM WILSON: CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 is written by yours truly and the great Evan Narcisse with line art by Eder Messias and Valentine De Lauro, colors by Fernando Sifuentes, letters by Joe Caramagna, and gorgeous covers by Taurin Clarke – just check out that image above!
The story follows our social worker turned super-hero Sam Wilson as he gets pulled by his cousin Billie into a billionaire’s scheme to use mindblowing technology to help Black farmers. But is it all what it seems? And what about that Red Hulk on the cover?
The book’s been a tremendous chance to play with huge super-hero adventure, delve into big sci-fi futurist fantasy, and explore the very specific ways this specific Black Captain America embodies, analyzes, and fights for the promise of America.
For more about the book, here’s an interview from the fine folks at the Captain America Comic Book Fans podcast with me and Evan:
I think you’re gonna freaking love it. Please do ask your local comic shop to pre-order it for you today, and check out some stunning interior pages below!
Thrilled to report that LAWFUL #3 hits comic shops today! Check out the Super Powered Fancast review, which calls the book “beautifully complicated and emotionally engaging.”
LAWFUL is drawn by Diego Galindo with colors by Irma Kniivila, letters by Simon Bowland, main cover by Qistina Khalidah, and script by Greg Pak (hey, that’s me!).
I’ve seen multiple folks who suffer from anxiety talking about how hard LAWFUL #1 hit them — in a good way. Always incredible when a book means something to a specific audience like that. If you’re an anxious person (like me!), maybe LAWFUL will resonate.
It’s finally here! LAWFUL #1 hits comic book shops today! Ask your local shop to hold a copy for you, and check out these rave reviews:
“Unique and refreshing, Lawful isn’t just an interesting story with remarkable art; it sparks conversations about underlying moral complexities and layers in its world and design.” — Pages and Panels
“Pak has a great gift for character work, making Sung and Eris feel fully fleshed out within the space of a single issue.” — AIPT
“The story crafts an interesting and intriguing world as well as characters that are beautifully complicated.” — Super Powered Fancast
And if you’re in New York City, please come to the LAWFUL #1 signing tonight at Anyone Comics!
Hey, New York City! I’m doing TWO signings this coming week to celebrate the release of LAWFUL #1, the first issue of an awesome new comic book series from me, Diego Galindo, Irma Kniivila, and Simon Bowland!
First, I’ll sign at Anyone Comics in Brooklyn at 7 pm on Wednesday, June 12.
Then I’ll sign at Everyone Comics in Queens at 6 pm on Friday, June 14.
Hey, friends! I don’t usually make a lot of noise about awards, but I’m enormously proud of WHO BELONGS?, a comic book published by the New York City Department of Education that tells the history of Asians and Asian Americans who played a role in key legal cases ensuring citizenship and civil rights — and I’d be honored if you’d consider nominating it for the Ringo Awards.
Anyone can participate in nominations for the Ringo Awards – both comic book pros and readers! And nominations close on Friday, so please don’t hesitate!
You can nominate the book for “Best Single Issue or Story,” “Best Non-Fiction Comic Work,” and “Best Kids Comic or Graphic Novel.” And you can nominate individual creative team members, including penciller and inker Jeremy Arambulo, colorist Irma Kniivila, letterer Janice Chiang, and writer Greg Pak (hey, that’s me!).
Thank you so much for your consideration, and I hope you enjoy the book!
