Ridiculously excited about this! As AMNY reported on Friday, the great Jeremy Lin will co-star with Amadeus Cho in Totally Awesome Hulk #13 and #14, written by yours truly with art by Luke Ross and covers by Bernard Chang! The first issue hits in December — ask your local retailer to order a copy for you today!
Here’s Lin talking about the book:
“They had me with Hulk’s hair. We’re kindred spirits,” Lin said. “It is an honor and a cool opportunity to become part of the Amadeus Cho, ‘Totally Awesome Hulk’ storyline. Additionally, I think it’s great that Marvel is making real efforts to add diversity to its superheroes and their origin stories.”
If you’ve followed me during the basketball season on Twitter, you know I’m a huge Lin fan, so this storyline is a dream come true — it’s the biggest Asian American sports star teaming up with the biggest Asian American superhero! Amadeus is a cocky teenager who thinks he knows everything and is going to be the best Hulk ever. Lin knows a little something about the greatness that comes from teamwork and what it takes to keep going no matter what. So in between all the smashing and hooping, someone big and green might just learn a little something.
Here’s another quote from Lin from the New York Post:
“It’s weird right? It was just a cool opportunity, and I think Greg [Pak] was really supportive of me and my story, so I’m thankful for that,’’ Lin told The Post, referring to the New York-based comics writer who became a diehard fan of the guard during his days as a Knick.
