Wizard Magazine says I’m “ON THE RISE” – in 2005

Article from the March 2005 Wizard Magazine.

ON THE RISE

GREG PAK

CREDITS: Originally trained as a filmmaker and screenwriter, Pak snuck into the comics field when his agent notified him that Marvel was looking for new talent. Pak sent over a sample screenplay, and after some discussions, he got the writing gig on the Warlock mini-series. Currently, Pak is teaming with superstar artist Greg Land on X-Men: Phoenix - Endsong.

WHAT HE DOES: Pak's emotionally compelling tales combine the slam bam action of a classic gangster movie with the nuance and romance of your favorite date flick. "I love genre and love stories with real emotional content, and I love combining the two," Pak said.

WHY HE'LL BE HOT: Pak is Marvel's "It" writer of the moment, constantly referred to as Marvel's best-kept secret and handling not only smaller projects like the aforementioned Warlock, but taking on heavy-hitting series like Phoenix. If Pak keeps the hot streak going, he'll be a household name in no taime.

DIDJA KNOW? Pak might pen the adventures of strong, resilient characters during the day, but once the moon is in the sky and the lights are dark, the man has a weakness for words on a blue monitor. "I'm a sucker for karaoke, particularly if there's Neil Diamond on the lists," Pak joked.

Time does indeed seem to pass, despite all our best efforts!
