So a little movie called THOR: RAGNAROK hit movie theaters this week, and I’m thrilled to report that it’s fantastic — and that it’s inspired in part by the PLANET HULK story that I wrote and Carlo Pagulayan, Aaron Lopresti, Gary Frank, Chris Sotomayor, Mark Paniccia, Nate Cosby, Randy Gentile, and many others worked on for Marvel!
Here’s a fun article from Vulture in which Abraham Riesman interviews me and editor Mark Paniccia about the making of the original comics.
I’ll be at the New York Comic Con all four days! I’ll spend most of my time in Artists Alley, E28, where I’ll have copies of many of my books, including MECH CADET YU #1 and #2, KINGSWAY WEST, and the new PLANET HULK prose novel! Here’s my schedule — hope to see you there!
Thrilled to share that I’ll be a guest of the Baltimore Comic Con this weekend, attending Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I’ll be at table 208 in Artists Alley with tons of comics, including MECH CADET YU, KINGSWAY WEST, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, PLANET HULK, TOTALLY AWESOME HULK, and tons more!
Hey, all! Just a quick reminder that throughout September, I’m donating all proceeds from online sales of my books KICKSTARTER SECRETS and ABC DISGUSTING to the North Texas Food Bank. Please do check out the books here:
The PLANET HULK prose novel will be my first published novel and I’m over the moon about it. The entire experience has been amazing, flexing new muscles and diving back into one of my favorite stories to find new nuances and surprises. If you’ve never read the PLANET HULK comics, have no fear — this will be entirely accessible to brand new readers. If you’re an old-school PLANET HULK fan, you absolutely don’t want to miss this — it’s packed with deeper looks and some surprising developments.
Huge thanks to everyone who’s been so supportive of my Hulk work over the years — this wouldn’t have happened with out you. Much love to all the editors and artists who made the PLANET HULK comics so special. And big thanks to my PLANET HULK prose novel editor Stuart Moore!
Big, big news! At long last, I’ve finished writing Kickstarter Secrets, a 154 page, 61,730 word book chock full of just about everything I know about crowdfunding!
Whether you’re an early career creator thinking about launching your first Kickstarter or a grizzled veteran, this book is for you, packed with practical examples and stories drawn from my campaigns and featuring interviews with incredible Kickstarter creators like Amy Chu, Hope Nicholson, Jimmy Palmiotti, C. Spike Trotman, and Drew Westphal.
The New York Comic Con starts tomorrow and I’ll be in Artist Alley at table W-11 all four days signing books and selling comics and copies of my children’s books, The Princess Who Saved Herself and ABC Disgusting! I’ll also have copies of my latest comics, Kingsway West #1 and Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York #1, so come see, come see!
