2018.11.14 – FIREFLY #1 in comic shops TODAY!

Absolutely thrilled that FIREFLY #1 hits comic shops today! The book continues the adventures of the band of outlaws and outsiders who starred in Joss Whedon’s beloved FIREFLY television show and SERENITY movie, and is written by yours truly with art by Dan McDaid, colors by Marcelo Costa, letters by Jim Campbell, and editing by Jeanine Schaefer and Gavin Gronenthal.

I’m hugely biased, of course, but I think the book is terrific and if you like space cowboys, fun worldbuilding, and/or stories about a found family of outsiders driving each other crazy while grappling with the wounds of war, this book is for you!

Keep scrolling for a lettered preview of the first few pages of the book, and ask your local comics shop to hold a copy for you today!

Also, here’s a brand new interview about the book and here’s a great review from ComicBook.com that concludes, “Excellent craft and a compelling story come together to create a comic book that Browncoats are likely to be very, very pleased with.”

Greg Pak and Dan McDaid bring FIREFLY to comics this November!

Did I mention I’m writing the new FIREFLY comic book series? I’m writing the new FIREFLY comic book series!

FIREFLY debuts in November, published by BOOM and based on the beloved Joss Whedon sci fi television show, with pencils by Dan McDaid!

I grew up in Texas in the ‘70s and ‘80s, so I’ve always loved the sci fi stories and the Westerns that are so essential to the show’s vibe. I’ve also got a huge affection for stories that embrace quirky relationships and humor but dig deep into real, high stakes emotional storytelling at the same time. In fact, I think that’s probably why my awesome editor Jeanine Schaefer pulled me on board — we had an absolutely tremendous time a few years back telling anything-goes stories about a group of misfits traveling through space and time  in the X-TREME X-MEN book, which feels like great prep for our new adventure.

The book’s been an absolute blast to work on so far — can’t wait to show you more!
