Noise To Signal loves “Incredible Hulk” #98

James Hunt has posted a rave review at Noise to Signal of “Incredible Hulk” #98, written by Greg Pak with pencils by Aaron Lopresti. Here’s an excerpt:

As we move into the second half of Planet Hulk, things kick off ina big way and we’re starting to see big returns on the earlier arcs of the series. This is going to read like one hell of an epic…. This is exactly the sort of story Hulk fans needed, even if they didn’t know. With World War Hulk announced to follow, the outlook for the character has never been so rosy. The Hulk title is in good hands with Pak at the helm.

Four stars from ComixFan.com for “X-Men: Phoenix – Warsong” #1

Andrew Jastrzembski, writing for ComixFan.com, gives four stars to “X-Men: Phoenix – Warsong” #1, written by Greg Pak with pencils by Tyler Kirkham. Here’s an excerpt:

The good news about this book is that Greg Pak returns to weave his latest Phoenix tale. Pak’s writing on X-Men Phoenix: Endsong and now X-men Phoenix: Warsong really impresses me. There is not a lot of superfluous wording in his stories, and his characterizations of the big name X-Men are spot on. Large ensemble casts can be difficult when you have to juggle several different personalities. Pak shows us again that he can deftly handle large casts without hindering the story and not cheating any of the characters.

Newsarama’s Best Shots loves “Incredible Hulk” #98

From Richard Renteria’s review:

Greg Pak has the gift for solid storytelling. This is the Hulk everyone wants to read about, one that can cut loose without fear of collateral damage. Not only is Pak writing a great Hulk, but he also does an excellent job of keeping the story moving forward without using a lot of unnecessary flashbacks. The one’s he does use are important to the story and help to develop the character they pertain to. It’s also nice to see so many challenges for the Hulk that can actually match his strength.
