As a filmmaker, Greg Pak is best known for his feature film Robot Stories, which won 35 awards and played in over 70 film festivals. Pak studied at the NYU Graduate Film program and won a Student Academy Award for his short documentary Fighting Grandpa. Pak’s recent short films include Happy Fun Room and Mister Green.

Filmmaker and comic book writer Greg Pak hits Philadelphia for three big events on Saturday, October 23. Here’s the full, updated schedule!

The Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival screens Greg Pak’s award-winning short film “Mister Green” at 1 pm in “Shorts Program 2: Visions” at the Asian Arts Initiative, 1219 Vine Street. Click here for full details.

The PAAFF awards Pak a special award at a FREE program entitled “A Conversation with Greg Pak” at the Ibrahim Theater at the International House (3701 Chestnut St). Here’s the info from the official website:

Award-winning filmmaker Greg Pak (Robot Stories, AAIFF03; Mister Green, AAIFF10) returns to the AAIFF’s annual Work-in-Progress Workshop. Pak will guide filmmakers through the process of molding an unfinished work into its final cut. Featured works include “Maria the Korean Bride” by Maria Yoon and “Love Arranged” by Soniya Kirpalani. These two films explore questions of marriage from intriguingly different angles. This event is organized as part of the Media Coalition for Artists of Color Networking Salon. This workshop is free.
