Kingsway West #2 hits stores this Wednesday! It’s the second issue of the Chinese gunslinger magical Western written by yours truly with art by Mirko Colak, colors by Wil Quintana, and letters by Simon Bowland, and YOU WANT IT.
Check out the lettered preview below, where we learn more about Kingsway’s relationship with Sonia, his missing wife.
And then ask your local retailer to hold a copy for you!
Ridiculously excited about this! As AMNY reported on Friday, the great Jeremy Lin will co-star with Amadeus Cho in Totally Awesome Hulk #13 and #14, written by yours truly with art by Luke Ross and covers by Bernard Chang! The first issue hits in December — ask your local retailer to order a copy for you today!
Here’s Lin talking about the book:
“They had me with Hulk’s hair. We’re kindred spirits,” Lin said. “It is an honor and a cool opportunity to become part of the Amadeus Cho, ‘Totally Awesome Hulk’ storyline. Additionally, I think it’s great that Marvel is making real efforts to add diversity to its superheroes and their origin stories.”
If you’ve followed me during the basketball season on Twitter, you know I’m a huge Lin fan, so this storyline is a dream come true — it’s the biggest Asian American sports star teaming up with the biggest Asian American superhero! Amadeus is a cocky teenager who thinks he knows everything and is going to be the best Hulk ever. Lin knows a little something about the greatness that comes from teamwork and what it takes to keep going no matter what. So in between all the smashing and hooping, someone big and green might just learn a little something.
Here’s another quote from Lin from the New York Post:
“It’s weird right? It was just a cool opportunity, and I think Greg [Pak] was really supportive of me and my story, so I’m thankful for that,’’ Lin told The Post, referring to the New York-based comics writer who became a diehard fan of the guard during his days as a Knick.

The podcast of the superfun Jay & Miles X-Plain the X-Men panel I did at the Rose City Comic Con has gone live! Check it out here!
Had a blast on that panel. Realized I’ve written a heck of a lot of X-Books over the years — X-Men Phoenix Endsong, X-Men Phoenix Warsong, Magneto Testament, Astonishing X-Men, X-Treme X-Men, Storm… even Alpha Flight with Fred Van Lente, which is kind of X-Adjacent. And we talked about a ton of those books! Especially Magneto and X-Treme X-Men.
Jay and Miles are very, very funny and the audience was incredible. Enjoy!

Kingsway West was written by yours truly with art by Mirko Colak, colors by Wil Quintana, and letters by Simon Bowland. You can check out some rave advance reviews here and pre-order the next few issues at KingswayWest.com.
A few years back, I wrote twelve issues of a Battlestar Galactica comic book series that tied in with the brilliant Ron Moore reboot of the television series. Now Comixology is selling the digital versions of three volumes of those issues for just $2.99 each in its BSG sale! Had a ton of fun on that series and it had great art by Nigel Raynor and Jonathan Lau. Check it out and enjoy!
Hey, all! Today’s the big day — the day comic book shops send in their orders to the distributor for KINGSWAY WEST #1, the first issue of the new Dark Horse series I’ve been talking about incessantly for weeks. If you’re at all intrigued, please do contact your local comics shop and pre-order the book today! Pre-orders are hugely important since the print run of a comic book is determined by how many copies comic shops order. In simple terms, the single most helpful thing you can do to help a comic book is pre-order it with your local shop.
But why, you might ask… why should I order KINGSWAY WEST? Well, here’s an answer from my interview with ComicsBeat:
If you’re looking for adventure, we’ve got big action, mind bending fantasy, and wild alternative history.
If you’re looking for emotion, we’ve got romance and a huge journey of heroism, horror, and redemption.
If you care about diversity in storytelling, our hero’s a Chinese gunslinger searching for his Mexican wife, pursued by an African American soldier. This is a world that explores the glory of American diversity and the tragedy of American racism with a Chinese American Golden City in Northern California, a República de los Californios in the Southwest, Native American city-states in the Midwest, and the United States of New York back East. Don’t sleep on this one, friends!
And dragons. We mentioned the dragons, right?
And here’s an excerpt from a 10/10 review from Comicosity, which lavishes much-deserved praise on artist Mirko Colak, colorist Wil Quintana, and letterer Simon Bowland:
I know I can rely on Greg Pak for entertaining stories, Colak for solid art, Quintana for vibrant, descriptive coloring, and Bowland for masterful lettering, so I had high hopes coming into Kingsway West #1. This creative team met that bar, effortlessly stepped over it, and gave me a story that was thoroughly entertaining and completely engrossing from cover to cover.
And here’s that trailer once more:
