12:30 – 1:30 pm – Debuting the Vision Machine iPad App!

Description: 
Get a first look at the future of enhanced digital comics as writer Greg Pak (“Planet Hulk,” “Robot Stories”) and voice actor Phil LaMarr (“Futurama,” “Justice League”) debut the iPad app version of Pak’s acclaimed sci-fi graphic novel “Vision Machine,” which includes a full soundtrack, music, animation and amazing interactive features. And get a free copy of the “Vision Machine” paperback! Also featured on the panel: app developer Barrett Fox (Coco Studios), funder Karim Ahmad (ITVS), composer David Libby, sound designer Ian Stynes, and internet superstar musician Jonathan Coulton, who’s interviewed in app’s extras. Here’s something fun I’m doing tomorrow night! Also, they’ll be selling copies of the “SHATTERED” anthology — which includes the giant robot story from me and Tak Miyazawa!

Extreme Makeover: The Comics Edition
Wed, Oct 10 from 7pm – 10pm
On October 10, join Jeff Yang, editor of the new graphic novel collection SHATTERED and curator of Marvels & Monsters and Alt.Comics, as he and a celebrity panel of comic book authors and artists discuss how stereotypes ruin stories and turn characters into cliches. The fun really begins when we invite leading local graphic novelists to share their own “Comic Book Extreme Makeovers”. Panelists include Keith Chow, Larry Hama, Jerry Ma, and Greg Pak.
Admission: $5 non-members/$3 students and seniors/ free for MOCA members.

2012.09.12 – Greg Pak signs “Doctor Strange Season One” in NYC

“Doctor Strange Season One,” an original graphic novel written by Greg Pak with art by Emma Rios and colors by Jordie Bellaire, hits comic book stores today! And Greg Pak will sign copies of the book in person TONIGHT at Midtown Comics Downtown in New York City, from 6:30-7:30 pm, 64 Fulton Street, NYC 10038.
